BrandRank

How to get your brand mentioned in AI answers

  1. Write down the questions, not the keywords
Assistants are asked full questions; your target is the question, not a two-word head term.
  2. Answer the question on one page, above the fold
A page that buries the answer under an introduction gets skipped for one that does not.
  3. Make the facts extractable
Prices, limits and specifics in plain text beat the same facts inside an image or a video.
  4. Get cited somewhere assistants already read
Being named usually follows being cited in a source the model already trusts.
  5. Re-measure after each change, and keep the date
Answers change without warning, so an undated reading is not a measurement.

Turning the five steps into a routine

The five steps above are easier to keep up when you run them as a short loop rather than a one-off project. Here is a practical way to do that for a small site.

Week one: collect the questions

List the ten to twenty questions a buyer asks before choosing a product like yours. Take them from support emails, sales calls and the questions customers type into your site search. Write each as a full sentence. For each question, note which page on your site is meant to answer it. If no page does, that is your first piece of content to write.

Week two: fix the pages

For each question page, check that the direct answer sits in the first paragraph, that prices, limits and dates are in plain text, and that the page has a descriptive title, a single H1 and an FAQ block with matching FAQ schema. Add Organization and Service structured data so a crawler can attribute the page to a named business. BrandRank's free audit checks these elements and returns a copy-paste fix for each miss.

Week three: earn citations

Assistants tend to repeat what trusted sources already say. Look for directories, industry sites and publications that cover your category, and give them accurate facts they can quote. A correct, dated fact sheet is more useful to a journalist or directory editor than a marketing page.

Week four: check that crawlers can reach you

If an AI crawler never fetches your page, no answer can cite it. Check your robots.txt for rules that block known AI user-agents you want to allow, and check your server logs or a beacon to see which AI crawlers are actually visiting.

Then repeat and date every reading

Re-run the audit after each change and record the date and score. Answers change without warning, so an undated reading is not a measurement. Keep a simple log: date, page, score, what you changed.

Common mistakes

Where BrandRank fits in this process

BrandRank fetches one page of your site the way an AI crawler would, in a single bounded fetch that respects robots.txt, and scores it against 20 on-page elements: titles, meta descriptions, H1, internal links, image alt text, FAQ copy and FAQ schema, Organization, Service, LocalBusiness and Breadcrumb JSON-LD, author bios, reviews, case studies, related content, calls to action and blog depth. Every miss comes back with the literal markup to paste. If a page cannot be read, BrandRank returns no score at all rather than a guess.

BrandRank also attributes AI-bot fetches of your site to the company behind them, using a 1x1 beacon or your access logs, across 23 known crawler user-agents.

BrandRank does not query ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini or Google AI Overviews and count your brand mentions. It does not give a prompt-level mention rate or an in-answer rank, and it does not guarantee a visibility outcome. If you need that kind of answer-sampling, compare tools on exactly that point before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

Can I try BrandRank without paying?

Yes. The free audit runs without an account or a card and scans one page against the 20 on-page elements.

Does BrandRank guarantee my brand will appear in AI answers?

No. Answer engines are third-party systems BrandRank does not control. BrandRank shows what on your page an AI crawler can parse and attribute, and supplies the fixes.

Can I cancel a paid plan?

Paid plans are monthly or annual. Read the terms on the pricing page before you subscribe, and contact BrandRank through the site if you need help with a subscription.
